Hello Human Angel,
Let’s Chat About the Energetics of Self-Criticism
How are you feeling this week? There have been some powerful solar flares lately that can stir up deep emotions and bring old feelings to the surface. So, be extra kind and gentle with yourself right now.
Recently, I’ve noticed a lot of self-criticism coming up for people — so let’s explore that together.
We’ll talk about:
The energetics of self-criticism
How it affects your mind
The urge to escape
How to move beyond it
The Energetics of Self-Criticism
When I look at someone’s energy during a session, I always see their greatness — the incredible soul in front of me. Yet, as we begin, they often share the places in life that feel heavy or out of balance.
As we dive deeper, we uncover how that “heavy or out of balance” experience is showing up, though we may not always understand why. The fascinating part is how the body, mind, and heart all engage in the emotion — sometimes even emotions passed down through lineage. In other words, the vibration of that old experience can still be playing in your energy field, even if it’s not originally yours.
You might feel it as tightness in your chest, heaviness in your heart, or an energetic pressure that makes it hard to move forward — all signs the vibration of self-criticism is alive in your field.
How Self-Criticism Affects the Mind
You might notice yourself spiraling into self-doubt, negative thoughts, worry, anxiety, or fear — without even knowing why. When the energy of self-criticism is active, the mind scrambles to make sense of it, often turning to judgment or worry as a form of control. But that only strengthens the loop.
The Desire to Escape
When this happens, the desire to escape is strong. And that urge to run isn’t a weakness — it’s your nervous system trying to keep you safe. When you bring gentle awareness to it, the charge begins to dissolve.
From my experience, allowing yourself to fully feel that emotion — even for just 10 seconds — is far easier than suppressing it for years.
If this resonates, know two things:
You’re not alone.
There are ways to shift out of self-criticism.
Moving Beyond Self-Criticism
Self-criticism loosens its grip when you shift from judgment to appreciation — both for life and for yourself.
Here are a few ways to begin:
- Write down at least one thing that’s good in your life. The more things you are grateful for, the better — add as many as you can.
- Give gratitude for that thing — really feel it.
- Make gratitude a daily habit.
- As you lean into gratitude, your inner strength and power naturally return.
- Flip the perspective: what if you’re so powerful that you came here to neutralize the very feeling you’ve been running from?
- Use Ho’oponopono to release and harmonize that energy with more ease. (And if this feels too heavy to handle alone, please reach out to a trusted energy healer or licensed therapist for support.)

Closing
Self-criticism is just a mirror — showing you where your power is ready to rise. When you meet it with awareness and gratitude, it transforms into wisdom.
So if you catch yourself being hard on yourself this week, pause. Take a deep breath. Remind yourself — this is just energy asking to be loved back into balance.
You came here with everything you need to shift, heal, and lead yourself forward. Keep choosing presence, keep choosing love, and keep remembering how powerful you truly are.
Lots of Love,
Sharon
