Have you ever wanted to wear something you absolutely loved, but then wondered if it was still in style or what other people might think?

I had the most interesting awareness about this the other day!

I was deciding what to wear and found myself thinking that something I really wanted to put on wasn’t necessarily in style. But I loved it. It felt like me.

And then I thought, why wouldn’t I wear it?

That simple moment brought up something I hadn’t considered before. Could the way we dress sometimes be a form of people-pleasing?

We often follow trends because we enjoy them. But sometimes we might choose what we wear because we want to fit in, avoid judgment, or simply not stand out.

And what happens when someone shows up wearing something completely different?

We might admire their confidence, or we might wonder why they would wear that.

It made me ask myself a question.

Am I choosing what makes me happy, or am I choosing what makes everyone else comfortable?

So, I decided to wear what I wanted and own that choice with confidence.

And who knows? Maybe I’ll start a new trend!

What I loved most about this awareness was realizing how easily people-pleasing can show up in the smallest parts of our lives without us even noticing.

And once we notice, we have an opportunity to choose differently.

We don’t have to change everything about ourselves. Sometimes it’s simply allowing ourselves to enjoy what we love without worrying so much about what everyone else thinks.

This week’s invitation: Notice where you might be making choices to fit in rather than choosing what genuinely feels right for you.

It might be something as simple as what you wear!

I’d love to hear your thoughts. Have you ever caught yourself doing this?
