Sometimes the smallest awareness can change the way we see something we’ve been doing for years.

This week, while working with a client, I noticed something that surprised me.

We were working with personal power and bringing that energy more fully into the body. As they spoke about what they wanted to embody, they were using the words:

“I will.”

I will be strong.
I will make good choices.
I will step into my power.

There was nothing wrong with the intention behind those words. But as I watched the energy, something wasn’t connecting.

It felt as though what they were asking for remained somewhere outside of them—something that would happen later rather than something they could access now.

Then I was guided to have them change two simple words.

Instead of “I will,” they said:

“I am.”

And I watched the energy change.

What had seemed unable to fully enter suddenly moved inward and through them. Their strength, power, divine light and support felt accessible in an entirely different way.

It was one of those moments that made me think, Whoa.

What Are We Telling Ourselves?

Afterward, I kept thinking about what I had witnessed.

How often do we place what we want somewhere in the future without realizing we’re doing it?

I will be strong.

I will trust myself.

I will make good choices.

I will feel supported.

There is always a later attached to I will.

But what happens when we bring those same intentions into this moment?

I am strong.

I trust myself.

I am making good choices.

I am supported.

Maybe our words aren’t simply describing what we want.

Maybe they’re also telling our mind, body and energy where we believe it exists.

Your Divine Light Isn’t Somewhere Else

This is the piece that stayed with me.

So often we ask for strength, courage, support or guidance as though we have to somehow reach outside ourselves and pull it in.

But your divine light isn’t waiting somewhere in the future for you to become worthy enough, spiritual enough, healed enough or strong enough to receive it.

It’s already part of you.

Perhaps sometimes the shift isn’t about finding more light.

Perhaps it’s about noticing the little ways we unknowingly keep placing it somewhere beyond ourselves.

So this week, pay attention to your words.

When you hear yourself say “I will,” try changing it to “I am.”

Then don’t analyze it.

Put your hand on your heart, take a breath, say the words and simply notice what happens inside you.

You may feel something.

You may feel nothing at all.

Either is okay.

You’re simply giving yourself an opportunity to experience the difference.

And perhaps you’ll discover that some of the support you’ve been looking for wasn’t absent after all.

It was waiting for you to let it in. ❤️
